Irony, thy name is Sunstein

My former reason colleague Jesse Walker has found a gem of an idea from the author of the "Libertarian Paternalism" theory, Cass Sunstein: In order to allay the fears of paranoid conspiracy theorists who think the government is monitoring them and trying to infiltrate them, the government should monitor and infiltrate them.

Seriously.

It is almost fitting that the so-called "Regulation Czar" should be in charge of counter-intuitive and contradictory silliness.

UPDATE: Glenn Greenwald has a more serious take on what is, honestly, rather disturbing idea here.
